I'm always on the look out for affordable yoga studios while travelling, and Mexico City was no exception. Yoga is usually pricey on vacation since single classes are more expensive than 10 class or monthly passes. Yoga studios are good place to meet like minded people and I made a couple friends through Power Flow Yoga in Mexico City.
The studio is located in Roma Norte, they offer drop in classes and provide mats. All the classes are 90 minutes, power/vinyasa and taught in Spanish. The instructor knew that I didn't speak Spanish and gave some cues in English, which I appreciated while flowing through the asanas. The studio is cute and located on the 6th floor of an apartment/office building. The teacher even offered me advice on fun things to do while in the city and I met a couple people from my classes that I hung out with. This studio definitely has a good community vibe to it and is suitable for all levels; beginner to advanced, as there's lots of room to do variations and play around. This is a true donation based studio, there's a box up at the front and you decide on the amount of your offering; the recommendation is 50-120 pesos.
This studio is in a convenient location (there's lots of restaurants and cafes near by) and it nourished all my travel yogic needs. They have a set schedule that's posted on their website, I also recommend joining their Facebook group, it seems to be updated pretty regularly. Here's the link: Power Flow yoga FB
I went to a couple studios and this was definitely the most welcoming.
