Refill shops are essential for the zero waste lifestyle. Here are my top refill shops in the Vancouver area:
Located on Main & 22nd, this is the pioneer store for all things zero waste. They sell everything from DIY cosmetic & body care ingredients to zero waste household items to vinegars, oils, honey and much more on tap. Dare I say they even have chips in bulk! This place is the ultimate spot to refill your containers again, and again, and again.
A very thoughtful store that really encourages us move away from single use plastics with its full service refill bar. It's a fun place to check out regardless of how zero waste you are, the staff are lovely and quick to help. The store does get a little busy but you'll never get bored of browsing through their selection of eco goods.

This is another Main St. gem, located a bit further down, on Main & 28th. I did a write up on this place when they first opened; click here. This store has all sorts of herbs, flowers, spices, food (I love their beet root powder sprinkled over the heirloom popcorn) and you can even find Eco Love products (bring your jars to fill up). Everything is organic, fair trade and locally sourced. It's a great place to pop into for a specialized tea blend and peruse through the infinite collection of botanicals.

A cute little refill shop nestled in the heart of downtown, on Hornby & Beach Ave. They carry cosmetic, cleaning, pet and baby products for you to refill. They try to source as locally as they can and carry only non-toxic, environmentally friendly products. If you're in a rush, you can drop off your bottles to be refilled and pick up at your convenience. As far as I know this is the only refill spot located downtown.

An organic, natural food store that caters to vegetarians and vegans, located in the Commercial Drive area, at Commercial & Napier. They have a good bulk and herb section. More than half of what they sell is grown/manufactured in British Columbia. They also have a restaurant attached with curries and various dishes and a bakery with delicious vegan treats. A great spot that promotes a healthy lifestyle while caring about their carbon footprint.
